Mike Judge Presents Tales from the Tour Bus - Betty Davis (2018)

The story : This is the last stop on the funk bus and it revolves around a little known woman who has a famous name and an unforgettable presence.
Bette Davis was born Betty Mabry in Durham , North Carolina.
She had the gift of soul from the get go , always surrounded by her talented family.
At 16 Betty relocated from Pittsburgh to New York and quickly decided to follow her dream as a model.
Being socially mobile , Betty ran with many crowds and was exposed to an array of music.
In 1968 Betty married musician Miles Davis. The two divorced a year later , but by this time Betty was performing her own music and kept her ex's name with his blessing.
She went to California and formed her own band , which included two of her cousins.
In 1973 she was 28 and had just released her first album.
Her live shows shocked people as they were not used to seeing such a raw , edgy stage presence in a women.
Despite the people Betty worked along side with she just never got the stardom she needed to succeed and after putting out one last album , was forced to perform out of the country where she was actually selling records.
But when things became too much for her she decided to turn her back on a career of music and fame and become a recluse...
