The story: In Asia, elephants are dying. In Washington D.C. at a zoo, they are trying to overcome the process of extinction.
Elephants have been said to be endangered 3 years ago and are still in harm's way.
Elephants rarely reproduce in the wild or in captivity.
One zoo in Washington D.C. is working hard by trying to keep elephants alive. This zoo is the birthplace of the second Asian baby elephant born in captivity due to artificial insemination in 2001, of a 27-year-old elephant who was taken from the wild as a baby.
This new baby elephant is known as Kandula, and this is its story...
