The story: Valentines Day, 1988.
Middle school students are at the school dance.
Outcast Jeremy Melton is asking some of the pretty girls if they would like to dance with him.
He gets viciously shunned by them one by one.
Finally, Jeremy asks overweight, sitting alone Dorothy, who decides to dance with him.
Soon the two are under the bleachers, making out.
When they are caught by a group of dickheads, Dorothy lies and says Jeremy forced himself on her.
So Jeremy gets beat up and sent away to reform school...
Fast forward 13 years.
The same girls who were all asked to dance by Jeremy are still close friends.
When one of them is murdered, the rest of them are questioned by the police.
After yet another friend just goes missing, and all the girls have got similar, creepy valentines, the truth comes out about Dorothy's experience with Jeremy.
The remaining girls are trying to help the police find out who is killing their friends off, while definitely considering the killer could be Jeremy, out for revenge.
