The story: Holly Madison became one of three stars of the TV show 'The Girls Next Door' ,which started in 2005.
Although she didnt exactly know what she was getting herself into
Eventually , Holly felt that Hef was manipulating , controlling and took advantage of her.
Friends of his that knew Hef and Holly didnt know why she would go on to write a book portraying him so badly.
Holly was drawn to being famous , with her low self esteem issues.
She believed if she started at Playboy , her career would sky rocket in the direction she wanted it to.
At the time Holly met Hef, he had seven girlfriends who he flaunted.
In the summer of 2001 , Holly got invited to a party at the Playboy mansion.
Holly wasnt picked by Hef , but she was allowed to join the rest of the girls...and she did just that.
Hef was charming and flattering but that was his motive.
Holly tried very hard to be Hef's one and only.
She became his main girlfriend but to her dismay not the only one. Not at that time.
The other girls began turning on Holly due in part to Hef's manipulation.
Then Bridget came along , waning to be a Playmate.
She got along with Holly because her intention was not to be Hef's main lady , which was a constant competition between the Playmates at the mansion.
Hef had himself also been a victim of low self esteem like Holly was.
But he was controlling and the control included the woman living at the mansion following all his wishes , changing their looks to his liking and looking like all the other woman who he considered his girlfriends.
Hef was becoming increasingly abrasive with Holly and she was feeling like her options were very few.
When 'The Girls Next Door' came along , Holly was feeling much more confident again.
2008 was the last year Holly spent at the mansion. All the other girls were leaving and it looked like Holly would finally get what she wanted.
But she eventually learned Hef wasnt who she thought he was and it was definately time for her to leave.
