The story : Louis is a doctor who has relocated his young family from Boston to the small town of Ludlow , believing it will be better for them all.
Almost right away his daughter Ellie and wife Rachel get an introduction to the cemetery on their property owed to past pets.
This freaks Rachel out but intrigues young Ellie.
While Ellie is wandering through the cemetery she meets her families next door neighbor Jud.
He quickly becomes a friend to the family.
A few days later Jud is the bringer of bad news when he discovers Ellie's beloved cat Church deceased by the road.
He urges Louis to take care of it later that night along with his help.
Just when Louis thinks he's going to bury poor Church in the pet cemetery Jud takes him further into the woods.
They bury Church in a place that they really shouldn't have and this sets in motion some really bad stuff for them all.
