The story : Louis is a rich but lonely man.
He has recently decided to send for Berthe , a women whom he's never met in person , only through a personal ad - so the two can get married.
All Louis has of his soon-to-be bride is her ring size and a photograph...
But she does not arrive when expected.
When Louis is about to leave , he is approached by another women , claiming to be Berthe - but she looks nothing like her.
She explains her reasons for fooling him with a photograph of someone else and Louis doesn't really know the difference so he accepts her story.
Soon after the two are married Louis wants to share everything he has with his beloved wife so he decides to put her name on all of his bank accounts.
The next thing he knows Berthe has disappeared along with all his cash.
Louis will not settle for that though.
