The story : Bill''s older brother of 5 years tells the story.
Bill is the only one in the family who decided he was going to go to L.A. and become a comedian right out of high school instead of college like the rest of his family.
He was great friends with comedian Sam Kinison , who was older than him but seen his potential.
Sam convinced Bills family that he would look out for him and that sealed the deal.
They were working in Houston , Texas in 1984 and it was going so well off to L.A. they went.
Bill was quickly hired for a sitcom that didn't get picked up just as quick.
Sam wanted a cut for helping Bill get notoriety and this caused them to drift apart.
By 1988 Bill was clean and sober. He was getting attention from David Letterman and Rodney Dangerfield.
He was edgy and different.
Back in Austin , Texas Bill filmed 'Sane Man' in 1989.
He filmed 'One Night Stand' in Chicago for HBO in 1991.
These shows gave him International status and he was then invited to Montreal's Just For Laughs Comedy Festival.
The next year the producer of the Canadian comedy show wanted to do another show with Bill , which became 'Revelations' , filmed in London of 1992.
Things were happening so very fast with Bill but by June of 1993 , after 16 years of being a stand up comedian and loving every minute of it , learned he had Cancer.
