The story: Ted is a psychiatrist at the local mental ward who has just put all his money into buying an old country home with his wife, Dani.

Ted has been working nights while Dani has been staying at the house, eager to get it ready to live in.

On this night, not unlike any other, Dani is alone at the house and getting ready to settle down for the night when there is a knock at the door.

Unsure what to do, after a short couple of minutes, Dani decides to see who is there.

A man, asking to come inside the house, appears. He claims that when she was outside just moments before, he saw someone go into the house when she had her back turned.

Dani isn't sure what is going on and if the man is telling the truth, but in the end, Dani loses her life.

Sometime later, Ted has a new live-in girlfriend, Yana, and is going on with his life.

After a visit with his wife's sister Darcy, who happens to be a blind psychic who runs her deceased mother's antique shop, she arrives at his home, unannounced.

Before she got there, she had a large wooden case delivered.

Both Ted and Yana feel completely imposed upon by Darcy, both claiming to have other engagements, but nothing sways her from staying.

When Ted gets off to work, leaving Yana alone with Darcy, Darcy opens the case.

Inside is a wooden man who Darcy claims was given to her mother by a witch as a wedding gift...

Unknown to Yana or Ted, but Darcy has brought the wooden man along with her to help take care of some unfinished business.
