Made for Shudder, airing on April 9th in the US.
Season 1. Episode 2.
The story: There are lots of examples of curses through the ages.
To this day, people pay other people to put curses on those who they have ill will.
But can these situations have a different explanation? Actions have reactions.
The story of the 'The Omen' being cursed began when a religious advisor was brought onto the set.
He said that the moviemakers were inviting the devil into the movie...
Although most people who were involved in the production of the film find that it was a true blessing, there were some horrifying and tragic shake-ups.
First, when actor Gregory Peck was inflight to the London set, his plane was struck by lightning.
Sometime later, movie producer Mace Neufeld's flight en route to the set had the same exact experience.
Later it was learned that the initial flight Gregory Peck had scheduled but canceled crashed killing all 6 people on board as well as the pilot's wife and children when the plane crashed into their car...
At the time production started on 'The Omen', IRA bombings were going on in London.
A bomb went off a block or so away from Neufeld's hotel, killing 1 and injuring 20.
It also took down the restaurant he and his wife had reservations at for that evening.
The baboon scene was filmed at an animal park. During the scene where Lee Remmick is driving through the park, the car she was driving stalled, trapping her inside while the baboons attacked the car.
Later still, an animal trainer involved in the training of those baboons was mauled to death by lions at the park.
After the film was made, the special effects supervisor for the film was involved in a car accident where he remained unharmed but his fiancee was not so lucky.
It was said that near where the accident occurred there was a street sign that said Ommen, 666km.
All these things seemed to be more than just coincidence.
But maybe we are looking at these incidents all wrong...
