The story: Wesley is a compassionate 10-year-old deaf boy who attends a special school where he gets bullied.
He lives with his quiet younger sister, patient mom and misunderstanding dad, who is recently home from work after being away.
The same night, over dinner, dad mentions a shooting in town but mom doesn't think its appropriate talk and nothing else is said...
The next day, while almost home from school, Wesley finds a man wounded, laying in the snow.
He runs to get his dad but when they get back the man is gone.
That night, while everyone is asleep, Wesley goes out to find the man.
He manages to get him out of the dark stormy night and into warm safety.
Wesley hides the man out, even after he realizes he is involved in the crime his dad had mentioned.
Bravely, Wesley helps the man and the man replaces the favor with friendship while teaching Wesley to defend and respect himself.
