The story: Rickey is a guy who has no real ties to anything.
He does spend a lot of time participating in a self-help group, which he enjoys.
He does spend a lot of time participating in a self-help group, which he enjoys.
But when he's asked to not show up anymore, he has to think of something else to do.
Rickey randomly shows up at Glenn's house, which Glenn isn't thrilled about.
Glenn is an old friend of Rickey's who is now married, awaiting the arrival of his first child and, at the same time, worrying about losing his job.
The worrying part is really getting to him.
Glenn's wife convinces him to at least talk to Rickey, even if he doesn't want to talk about what's currently going on in his life.
She also convinces him to go out to lunch with Rickey, which Glenn reluctantly does.
While out, Rickey asks Glenn if he wants to go to Sacramento with him.
Glenn is confused but says yeah, why not.
Rickey takes him seriously, but Glenn tries bailing at the last minute. So, Rickey tells him his dad has passed, and he needs to spread his ashes there.
Once again, after speaking to his wife, Glenn reluctantly agrees to go, making a weekend out of it.
But there is actually one other reason Rickey is going to Sacramento, and he really feels that he just needs Glenn there to help him get through it.
