Fierce People (2005)

The story: It is the summer of 1980.

Finn is a teenager who lives with his masseuse mother.

She also has a drinking and drug problem she is working on kicking.

Finn has been invited to spend his summer in the rainforest with his archeologist father who he has never met.

But his mother cannot find his passport and needs a fix to help her get her shit together.

When Finn scores for her, he gets arrested during a bust.

Now he really isn't going to the rainforest.

That same day Finn finds himself on a road trip with his mother and a policeman to New Jersey.

They are going to stay with a friend of her's, a rich man who has hired her to be his massage therapist.

The whole experience does Finn and his mother good.
