The story: John Callahan is an alcoholic who is holding onto grudges from his childhood.
The most important task of his days is to have a drink.
When John is involved in a horrible accident he finds himself a quadriplegic.
Now, more than ever, John only wants to drink.
After some advice and force from friends, John finds himself at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.
At first, John is really uninterested, unwilling, and just doesn't really think he wants help.
But after really getting to know his peers and sponsor he realizes there is much more to his life than he thinks.
He begins attending art classes as well as drawing cartoons, which makes him happy and eventually, famous.
