The story : Howard Beale has been the top USB-TV newscaster for quite sometime.
His ratings have been very good for some years.
But after some personal trouble , his ratings began dipping and USB-TV has finally decided to retire him.
Howard is advised he has two weeks of air time left and that very evening , he goes on camera , stating in a weeks time he will take his own life on live TV.
The station flips and ousts Howard immediately but he soon wants another chance to go on for his remaining time.
Howard is allowed the time by an old friend who also works at the station but this time , Howards air time is spent spewing doom and gloom.
And apparently the viewers love it because the ratings have gone up.
This gives the station an idea , as they are all about their ratings.
Keep Howard on , who is now considered the most important man in news reporting.
