Problem with the lesson is , it goes a bit in the wrong direction and they kill their house mother!
Yea but she'll have her revenge...

Escapes (1986)

The story: Matthew Wilson gets home one afternoon. He gets his mail and goes inside.
While going through his mail, he finds he has received a VHS tape of a movie called 'Escapes', starring Vincent Price.
Even though he didn't order the video, he calls up a friend and asks if they wanna come by and watch.
This movie now goes on to consist of 6 short stories...
Story 1, "A Little Fishy": A man is out on a beautiful sunshiny day fishing.
The only bite he gets is from a tiny little fish. Instead of letting the fish go, the man hooks it and throws it back for bait.
Then he finds, hmmm... - ...mmmm a shiny-ripe, red apple!
Story 2, "Coffee Break": A couple traveling the scenic route but seem to be lost decide to stop to ask a local old-timer for directions to Highway 49.
The old-timer, as helpful as can be, tells the couple they have stumbled into the heavenly country and for them to be careful so 'folks like them can come back now, ya hear?' The couple thanks him and away they go. Sometime later, a noisy young'en driving a delivery truck happens upon the old-timer's place, looking for highway 49 as well. A bit startled by the young fellers attitude, he proceeds to set him straight. None the less, the young guy is in a hurry but the old-timer makes him promise he will take his time, drive slow and stop for a cup of coffee. Yeeeup , but he doesn't.
Story 3, " Who's There?" : A Biogenetics scientist gets word that one of the experiments has broken out of the experimental wildlife preserve.
This is a major emergency! The experiment seems to have made its way back to the preserve where children play and people jog.
A man who has jogged far into the preserve to have himself a little snack finds the experiment and begins to run from it. But there are more!
Story 4, "Jonah's Dream": Mary spends a long, hot day out in the mountains mining gold. She doesn't find much, but every little bit counts. She drives off into town bringing along her findings. But she hasn't got much gold to pay up with. The storekeeper advises her to move away from her mining mountain but she insists her past husband would want her to continue living out his dream. Later on that night, something lands on Mary's property bringing lots of change.
Story 5, "Think Twice": A thief has just stolen a purse. While going through the purse, he witnesses a homeless man with a brightly lit crystal recieve much hot food he didn't have before he took out the crystal. The thief decides to beat the crystal out of the homeless man. The homeless man begs for the thief to bring back the crystal, claiming it will do the thief no good. But off he runs with it. The thief is then hit by a drunk driver. The driver gets out to investigate but does not find the thief, only the crystal. But he leaves it there and rushes off. Now the homeless man whom the crystal was taken from in the first place finds his beloved crystal and uses it to get even.
Lastly, story 6, We are back at Matthew Wilson's house and he has been watching the stories along with us. Vincent Price appears at the beginning of the last story, telling Matthew that in this last story, Matthew will participate. Confused and freaked, Matthew shuts the movie off but it comes back on! Do not piss off Vincent, you hear!? So Matthew then takes the video out of the VCR. Next, Matthews's coffee pot begins brewing coffee. There is a knock at the door, but when Matthew answers it there is no one there. Or is there?....

The story : Mari is a young lady who happens to be hanging with her girlfriend Paige at work at the local variety store.
A guy their age named Justin comes into the variety store. He wants to buy cigerettes. Paige asks for an I.D.
Justin explains that instead of carding him , he can hook her up with some buds if she helps him out with some cigerettes.
Paige accepts.
After work Mari drives Paige and Justin to his hotel where he is keeping his stash.
The three spend lots of time there , while Paige smokes up a storm.
Mari calls her parents telling her shes staying out overnight with Paige.
The next thing you know , Justins' dad , uncle and their girlfriend show up at the hotel.
But Justin was not expecting them back.
This is really bad because surprise Justins' dad is wanted by the police.
So the group decide they cannot just let Paige and Mari go and that's when things get , bad.

A couple guys do go into the vault but Ryan catches them and tells them to beat it.
But it seems the two snoopers have hooked onto some sort of evil after messing with Jack's crystal ball.

The story : Mr. Killup is a grumpy old man who isnt into anything but himself and eating.
His grown son picks up the pieces for him usually and Halloween is no exception.
He gives his father a bowl of Halloween candy and tells him to give it out or he will no longer help him , that includes bringing him food.
Mr. Killup decides to shoo the trick or treaters away from his house by being mean and playing pranks on them , instead of giving the candy away.
At midnight , Mr. Killup's doorbell rings.
He yells for the person behind it to go away , that it is too late and they are getting no candy.
But the caller will not leave.
Instead the caller messes with Mr. Killup , leaving his trick or treat bag after a scuffle with the old man , on his living room floor.
Later on , that trick or treat bag begins moving...

Each child has an opportunity to find their family's I.O.U.'s and if they do, their family will be freed of their debts.
No child has found the I.O.U.'s yet, but that doesnt stop them from trying.
But this year, Mr. Hackles will get a very interesting trick or treat himself.

Jewel convinces Angie to help cast a spell on Vance's father-in-law and wife so her and Vance can be together.
Then when they get caught together, Jewel decides to cast another spell on Vance's father-in-law to keep him from ratting on Vance.
But when Vance decides he wants no part in Jewel anymore, she decides to work her voodoo on him.
But there is just one little thing Jewel forgot about that faithful day that they first met.

Doug gets home and begins carving his jack o lantern.
When Arthur gets home and sees the pumpkin he flips, screaming Halloween is forbidden in the house.
Arthur hates Halloween.
But Doug ain't having any of it. He feels like Arthur is just a dictating, insane mooch.
The problem is, this could be bad for Arthur's health.

Kingdom of the Spiders (1977)

Filmed entirely in Arizona.
The story : A farmer is getting ready to show his prize calf in the county fair. But the next thing he knows , the calf becomes seriously ill.
He takes the calf to see the local vet , who takes tests and sends them on to be examined but sadly cannot save the calves life.
The very next day the poor farmers dog turns up dead.
By this time , the test results are in , along with a women scientist to investigate what is going on.
She tells the vet and the farmer that the calf and the dog were killed by high doses of spider venom.
The vet doesnt take this information seriously. That is until the farmer tells them of a giant spider mound he has found on his land.
There is a major spider problem and hopefully the vet and the scientist lady can put an end to it before any more animals...and/or people die.

That evening he returns home and explains that he chickened out.
But he is proud of himself for taking some personal responsibility by buying condoms and is equally excited that after trick or treating he will get lucky.
Frank stays at Ray and Debra's house to give out candy while they trick or treat with their kids.
But Frank runs out of candy. Or at least till he looks through the kitchen cabinets and finds what he believes is candy.

His little sister doesn't think that's fair so she picks a fight with him.
Jordan gets in trouble for fighting with his little sister and mentions that he is going to kill her.
Bernie makes him promise that he won't touch his little sister, so he does something really gross to her toothbrush instead.
In trouble again, Jordan is on the verge of losing his Halloween.
After Jordan gets some useful advice from his older sister, he doesn't allow his little sister to push his buttons anymore.
Out of necessity, Jordan has to babysit his little sister because their sitter has canceled at the last minute.
He doesn't seem to care though because he just wants to watch his new horror movie DVD that Bernie said he couldn't watch because it's rated R.

Three stories here.
Story 1 , "The Graveyard Rats". Married couple Laura and Roger fight over her affair with one of his employees and Roger still leaves her as the sole heir to his will. Laura wants to leave Roger but he threatens to expose her affair. Roger makes Laura promise to stop the affair or he's cutting her from the will. She explains to her lover , Ben - who worked for Roger , that they have to stop seeing each other. Ben entertains the idea of killing miserable Roger so he cannot blackmail her any longer. Soon they go through with their plan. Then to take the money and run. Oh yep but it backfires on them.
Story 2 , "Bobby". A lady is desperate to have her deceased son back with her once again. She uses witchcraft to bring her child back to life. Later that night , young Bobby returns home to his grieving mother. Bobby explains to his mother that he forgot who he was but when he remembered he walked back home. His mother explains that she thought he was dead. Now Bobby has many questions about who he was before. The very sweet boy that Bobby once was is no more. This could be because the boy she believes is her son looks like him , but is not.
Story 3 , "He Who Kills". A man calls the police after he finds his girlfriend and her mother dead in his girlfriend's apartment. The police have many questions for the man but he is very distraught. The women seem to have been murdered by some sort of lunatic. Then the police find a little wooden man with nasty teeth who has been burned to a crisp in the apartments oven. Later on they realize the little man is a Zuni Fetish doll , not that they know what that is exactly. The police visit a doctor in hopes that she will clear up the mystery of the Zuni doll. The police are in immediate need of knowing anything they can about the doll. The doctor works overtime to study the doll. The doctor and her assistant figure out that there is a lock and chain that the doll is to wear to keep him until control. Only he isn't wearing his lock and chain.

There are three stories to this movie. All about women, all played by Karen Black.
Story 1, "Julie". College student Chad has suddenly, out of the blue, getting the hots for his meek, librarian-like teacher. Chad asks her for a date but she resists, claiming teachers are not allowed to date students. But Chad persists and gets his date. While on the date, Chad takes advantage of his teacher and then seemingly blackmails her into having a secret relationship with him. That is, until she gets bored with him.
Story 2, "Millicent and Therese". Millicent and Therese are sisters who have just lost their beloved father. Millicent has taken it upon herself to invite her sister's boyfriend over, whom she's never met - to fill him in on her sister's evilness. At first, he doesn't believe what Millicent tells him about how devious Therese is. But after she explains she knows about a certain disaster between the boyfriend and Therese, he believes her. But none of it matters because Millicent hates Therese so much, she plans on taking care of her for good the same way she believes Therese has been ruining people for years.
Story 3, "Amelia". Amelia brings home a strange, ugly Zuni Hunting Fetish for her new man-friend which she believes he will love. She attempts to break her weekly Friday night date with her overbearing mother, but she just gets the guilt trip. While on the phone with mommy dearest, she tells her all about the gift until her mother hangs up on her. After explaining to the ugly doll that she is going to have a nice evening, she sits it down. In doing so, a lock and chain fall off the Fetish. Amelia then cancels her date for mother. Amelia steps back into the room where she left the Fetish, but it's now missing. But that's only cause he's on the rampage for blood!

There are three stories in this movie.
Story 1 - "Second Chance". Frank is a young man who is into restoring vintage cars.
He finds a 1962 Jordan Playboy which has a sorted history.
Frank pays a mere one hundred dollars and is on his way. Soon he has the car restored to its original self.
He takes the car for a ride on an old road and the next thing he knows he finds that he and his new car have driven straight into 1962.
As he is exploring the town , his car is stolen.
The next morning he finds himself back in the present.
But he has changed the course of the future.
Story 2 - "No Such Thing As A Vampire". Alexis has been what appears to be attacked by a vampire. The house servants as well as the towns people are scared to death. Her husband calls in the help of his and his wives' friend , claiming that he has searched high and low for the creature but cannot find it.
His friend decides to stay the night to help him find and stop this mad creature. But the "vampire" has been in the house the whole time.
And lastly , story 3 - "Bobby". Heartbroken Alma hasn't been herself for quite sometime now. She has lost her young son in a drowning accident and cannot seem to get over it. One stormy night Alma decides to conjure up the spirit of her deceased son in hopes of him returning home to her. Later on that night , Alma's wish has been granted. Bobby has returned home. But unfortunately Bobby has a grudge against his mommy and now she will pay.

The story : Busy realitor Jim Evers of Evers and Evers is rushing to his last sale done with his latest clients as it is his wedding anniversary.
Just on his way home , Jim gets another couple looking for him to sell their home for them.
This complicates the situation and Jim ends up missing his dinner reservations he and his wife had.
His wife is now upset that Jim only cares about work , work , work and makes no time for her or his kids.
That's when Jim promises that he will take the coming weekend off and spend it on a family adventure with his family.
While on their way to their adventure , there is a last minute request from a potential seller who is looking for Jim's wife to sell his home.
Only it's not just any home , it is a grand old mansion with it's own cemetary.
Selling this house could make the Evers much money.
So they stop in real quick to see the house and talk to the owner but nothing about their visit is quick.
The Evers end up having to stay at the house and find out there is a strange reason for the seller wanting Jim's wife to handle the deal.

When the will is read, Elvira finds that instead of quick cash she has actually inherited her great aunt's house, dog and "cookbook".
So she thinks, well maybe she can fix the house up and sell it!
Only she doesn't know that the house is haunted.

The story: Greedy, selfish spinster Elma Dinnock enters the yearly pumpkin competition every year and every year she loses to one of the other towns' ladies.
When she snaps out in front of everyone claiming the competition is fixed, she is set straight by the winner.
The lady who won the competition explains to Elma that winning the competition is more about what you give to the community rather than who has the biggest pumpkin and sends Elma on her way.
Later on, a man who was at the competition approaches Elma telling her that he has a way for her to win next years competition.
If she will only give him 10 thousand dollars so he can continue his research, he will give her his growth serum.

They also find him very strange as he acts out scenes of movies and only he knows what's going on.
A girl from school comes to Harry's house and asks him over for her birthday party but Harry makes up an excuse why he can't go.
He would much rather go to the movies.
But when he does make it to the movies, he finds he is actually in the movie and it's quite frightening. More than he ever imagined.

The story: One rainy school day morning Mrs. Simmons announces to her young son Bobby that today is the day she will be cleaning up his room.
She tells Bobby that he is just too old now for all the baby things he still has hanging around.
With sadness, Bobby agrees to allow his mom to get rid of his old toys.
After cleaning Bobby's room, Mrs. Simmons sits down to her soap opera but soon loses the electricity due to the rainstorm.
Next, there is a strange noise in the house and just like that a pillow next to Mrs. Simmons is taken from behind her off the couch she is sitting on.
She jumps up in fright to find some sort of creature who is now looking for everything that isn't edible inside the house to eat.
Mrs. Simmon's tries and tries but she just cannot seem to get rid of the creature.

She brings it home and begins researching the flower. Later she tells her boyfriend she believes she has found a rare type of flower as she cannot find any exact information on it.
The next morning Elizabeth notices a change in her boyfriend , he just is not himself.
Elizabeth goes to work and confides in a fellow co-worker/friend but he tells her not to worry.
As time goes on , Elizabeth notices more changes in her boyfriend. She also finds people who seem to be experiencing the same thing she is with their significant others.
Something strange is going on here but no one can figure out what. Hopefully it's just not contagious!

After Laura delivers the baby , things begin to seem like too much for her.
Laura is constantly worried about the baby and seems to be suffering from lots of anxiety.
Steven decides that Laura could use some help while he is away at work so he calls in a local woman.
Laura is reluctant to take the unfamiliar womans' help at first , but she eventually warms up to her.
But some things the woman does lead Laura into not trusting her once again and for good reason.

Problem with that is , a real robber shoots Johnny while he is trying to save Missy's life.
In Johnny's time of dying , he finally pops the question.
Missy accepts.
So Johnny comes back to life as the living dead just so he can keep his date with Missy.
