The story: All day the local kids collected many Christmas trees to give to the less fortunate at the church.
Later that evening, one of the girls finds that all the trees have disappeared!
Everyone is very sad about this tragedy.
It's Christmas eve and its snowing up in the mountain where they got the trees so getting more is out of the question.
The police are called in to see if they can do some investigating and find out who took all those trees.
Meanwhile, Lassie is looking to save the day. She sure does know a crook when she sees one.
