After being shown at many film fests , finally released on the big screen April 24 , 1983 in the US.
Filmed in Tennessee and Michigan.
The story : Ash , Linda , Shelly , Scotty and Cheryl all go out to the country for what they believe should be a pretty good time.
When they arrive at their cabin , they arent all that thrilled with the looks of it but they make do.
Not too long after being there , the doorway to the cellar opens up.
Of course they all must investigate this , as its not exactly everyday the cellar door , which opens from the floor - opens up by itself right?
So , they find some really creepy things , including a book made from human flesh and blood and a recording done by a man who had stayed there sometime ago with his wife , while they explored the area.
The recording doesnt exactly warn the bunch of the evil they will encounter.
But it does awaken it.
