The story: In 1976, Lois Gibbs is a married mother of two, living in a quaint suburb in Niagara Falls called Love Canal.
Mrs. Gibbs is beginning to struggle with her young sons' illnesses.
After speaking to the principal at the school about transferring her son to a school that would better suit his needs, she learns that there are recent reports that the school her children attend, is in fact built on said contaminated grounds.
This gets Lois thinking.
It is quite possible that her son's illnesses' are due to the contamination possibly leaking into the grounds where all the local children spend a good amount of time.
Lois begins a three-year fight to get the school and neighborhood she and many neighbors are living in, which is slowly killing them - condemned to the public.
