Hot Coffee (2011)

Airing on HBO , June 27th in the US.
Filmed in Washington DC , New York , New Mexico , Georgia , Texas and Alabama.
The story : In 1992 , a 79-year-old lady by the name of Stella Liebeck suffered third degree burns on her lap area due to a scolding hot cup of coffee she had purchased at McDonald's.
After being treated for her injuries , her family seen that now would be a good time to ask McDonald's to help in her medical costs.
As it were , McDonald's only agreed to give the woman a mere 8 hundred dollars , when infact her bills were soaring over a 10 thousand dollar range.
So she sued.
At the end of the trial , the jury awarded Stella Liebeck with $160,000 for medical costs and $2.7 million for punitive damages.
Later , the ruling judge overturned the jurys' decision and lowered Stellas' award to $640,000 along with an undisclosed amount agreed to out of court.
This specific suit brought on a whole new world in court cases , laws and the amounts of money awarded to people who sue with and if infact are allowed to sue with , civil common law claims such as liability , malpractice and contracts under arbitration.
All carried out and onward by a thing called the Tort Reform.

The story : After the 2010 BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico near Mississippi , energy companies around the world decided to tap into the natural gas supply , via a process called "fracking".
The companies claim this is the only way forward in obtaining clean energy sources.
The high-ups argued time and time again that their fracking would have no toxic effects what so ever on water supplies , let alone the long term effects on the environment.
Here is proof that they were , and are continuing to just cover their greedy asses...

I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer (2006)

The story : On the 4th of July , a group of friends concoct a plan to scare the hell out of people at the local carnival.
In this process , one of the girls' , Amber , friends' dies due to their prank.
A year later and the group has lost most contact with each other. Amber is still around but laying low and keeping to herself.
Shes been creeped out about her friends death ever since and just cant get all that off her mind.
Things get even more creepier when she starts getting constant phone texts stating "I know what you did last summer."

The story : A young woman who is haunted by her past , takes a hiatus in a cabin that she used to visit as a child.
She doesnt know it but there is a ghost living there who happens to be getting attached to her the longer she stays.
After a while , a guy friend of hers comes and stays with her as per her request.
But the two dont spend too much time together before she starts turning on her guy friend.
Being the biggest bitch she can be for as many different reasons as she can come up with.
I think its the ghosts idea...

Behind The Camera : The Unauthorized Story Of 'Charlie's Angels' (2004)

Made for TV, airing March 8th in the US.
Filmed entirely in Canada.
The story: In 1976, the tv production company Spelling/Goldberg is looking to renew itself with a great idea for a new hit show.
After a bit of brainstorming, Mr. Spelling comes up with the idea of three policewomen who leave their line of work to become private investigators.
The company pitches the idea to ABC and gets the okay to make a pilot, but after a test showing of the pilot which doesn't go over well, ABC is more than hesitant to air it to the public.
After some persuasion and changes, ABC finally airs the pilot and the result is a fabulous one. Sending the show to the top of the ratings.
It doesn't hurt that the top model/actress of the time, Farrah Fawcett-Majors happens to be starring in the show.

Mrs. Soffel (1984)

Based on truths.
The story: In 1901, Mr. and Mrs. Soffel is a married couple with a few children, who happen to run the local prison.
Mrs. Soffel finds peace and solace in delivering bibles to the prisoners, usually the ones on death row.
When two young men, charged with murder, are brought to the prison while awaiting being hung, Mrs. Soffel finds that she can learn from them as well as try and teach them some inspiration instead of concentrating on death and dying.
The two men eventually convince Mrs. Soffel that they are indeed innocent and do not deserve their sentences.
Mrs. Soffel helps the men escape their imprisonment.

I've got to tell ya , this is the first time I've ever seen this flick. I can't say I think is hilarious , although I do find this very funny and entertaining. Furthermore , I think J Bridges is just really awesome in his role here. He's got the aging hippie/stoner guy down to a T. ;) Dig it.

The story : Jeff Lebowski is a mellow kind of guy , who goes by the name "The Dude".
He likes to chill , have a drink or two , smoke a little and go bowling with his friends.
Unfortunately The Dude runs into a little trouble because of his last name being Lebowski.
There happens to be another Mr. Lebowski in the area , who is a millionaire.
When a group of dipshit has-been music producers get the hair-brained idea to blackmail Mr. Lebowski into giving them a millionaire dollars in return for his wife , they go after The Dude.
