Based on truths.
The story: It is 2003 in New Jersey.
Amy is a single mother of two young girls, working as an ICU nurse.
She is battling a heart condition that she cannot let anyone at her work know about, for fear of losing her job.
Amy is a very compassionate person who does as much as she possibly can for her patients but it does take a toll on her.
One day while Amy is being reprimanded by her boss she learns the hospital hired someone who will be working along with her.
When Charles and Amy meet they hit it off right away and quickly become close friends.
Charles is a single parent of two young daughters as well but does not live close to his family.
He has taken his current job to be closer to his girls but his wife has moved further away.
Soon, patients at the hospital begin dying with apparently no life-threatening symptoms.
When the hospital fires Charles due to believing he is responsible for the deaths but won't admit to that, the hospital is advised to call in law enforcement to investigate.
Without much more help from the hospital, the police turn to Amy to help them put Charles behind bars and out of hospital work for good.
