Released on Showtime, airing January 24th in the US.
Filming location(s) unknown.
The story: 1979, Los Angeles.
The punk music scene was happening.
Five teenage girls were inspired by that music, the scene and wanted to start their own band.
Even if they couldn't play instruments or actually sing they made it their mission to write and perform their own music.
After struggling through rough gigs, the girls were noticed by a woman who knew that they had the potential to go places.
The Go-Go's new manager took them to England where once again, they roughed it through the gigs.
But they were performing gigs, no matter how bad they were.
The exposure and experience are all that mattered.
When they returned to America, after having released their first single while in England, they found they were an instant sensation.
After getting a recording deal, The Go-Go's were shot into the spotlight almost overnight.
But many behind the scenes factors became too much for the young, talented group to conquer and by their fourth album, they finally called it quits.
