The story : Rachel Scott is a high school sophomore at Columbine High.
She has her sights on the lead role in the school play as well as a guy involved in it.
When Rachel doesn't get the role she wants at least she can still count on her gal pals for help at getting the guy.
Rachel goes out with her pals so she can get to know the guy she likes but gets in trouble for being out and ends up being grounded for the whole following summer.
While away visiting with her cousin and aunt , Rachel begins taking her religious beliefs seriously.
Back at school , Rachel decides to do things differently.
She still has the same high hopes and gets the lead role in the next play but still hasn't got the guy.
All the while , Rachel tries helping people around her while two bullied guys from her school are plotting one of the biggest school shootings in history.
