The story: In 1980, famous journalist Gay Talese was working on releasing his newest book, 'The Neighbors Wife'.
Talese received a letter from a man named Gerald Foos - a previous hotel owner , who had spied on customers without their knowledge while they stayed at his hotel.
Foos told Talese that he may be interested in his life story for his "upcoming book or another in the future".
Talese was fascinated and in fact, began corresponding with Foos.
Many years past. Talese and Foos became friends and Talese believed he knew Foos story so well that he wanted to write about it.
Foos was also finally ready to have his secret story heard, believing that most people who could have been involved had since past.
