Filmed in New Jersey and Texas.
The story : Teenager Dot has just lost her father , the only blood guardian she had left in the world.
Her Godparents , whom she hasn't seen since she was 7 , decide it is best for them to take Dot in.
Godparents have a snooty daughter about Dot's age that doesn't want to have anything to do with Dot and pretty much holds its against her parents that she's now living with them.
Basically no one wants to be bothered by Dot as she is quiet and keeps to herself , playing the role of dumb and deaf.
But Dot's new home is a messed up one , where her Godmother is constantly zonked out on prescription pills , her Godfather is a major messed-up-in-the-head pervert and her new Godsister (is that even a proper title??)has a big secret that's causing her great pain and making her act really evil and bitchy.
