Filmed in New York and California.
The story : Out of work dancer Paula and her young daughter Lucy are getting ready to take a trip to California with Paula's actor boyfriend.
When the two get home from shopping for the trip , they find a goodbye letter from Paula's now ex-boyfriend , stating he has left them behind for good.
Paula is upset but she's gotta keep it together for Lucy's sake.
The next thing Paula knows , her ex has leased out his apartment that Paula and Lucy call their home.
Paula insists she will not leave and no one can make them leave.
Then Paula and Lucy meet the man who has leased the apartment out from under them.
Only he didn't realize Paula and Lucy were living there.
But he has no place else to go.
And Paula won't leave.
