The story : In the early 50s , Nick Bollertierri finished college , graduating with a degree in philosophy and went on to serve in the US Army.
By the mid 50s , Nick was teaching tennis after dropping out of the University of Miami Law School.
Before teaching , Nick hadn't done much more than play tennis.
On to Puerto Rico , Nick worked as the tennis director at the Dorado Beach Hotel there.
Then in 1977 he moved to Longboat Key , Florida and began teaching tennis instruction at the Colony Beach and Tennis Resort.
In 1978 , Nick opened his own Tennis Academy.
At the time The Nick Bollertierri Tennis Academy was the first major tennis boarding school , changing the way tennis was taught on a junior level.
Nick trained many of the best , aspiring young players and by the early 80s he was teaching and boarding rebellious and very talented Andre Agassi.
As Andre showed promise of becoming one of the greats Nick slowly dropped the previous attention he had on the other up and coming players and took on the role of Agassi's full-time coach.
