We the People : The Market Basket Effect (2016)
Released May 20th in the US.
Filmed in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
The story : Once upon a time , there was a man named Athanasios "Arthur" Demoulas , born and raised in Greece and went on to relocate as an adult to Lowell , Massachusetts.
There Arthur opened a grocery market named Demoulas.
Arthur was a very generous man who gave food to his customers who couldn't afford to pay , making him a businessman of kindness.
But kindness doesn't pay the bills.
When Arthur's grocery store was in jeopardy , his two sons - Mike and George , took over the business , working and striving for the best together helping it grow.
The two worked hand in hand and their agreement was if one was to pass away , the other would take over the responsibility of the company and the others family.
When George passed suddenly , it was up to Mike to pick up the slack and that he did.
Demoulas supermarkets accumulated and Mike covered his assets.
After decades , it was Mike's son Arthur T.'s turn to take over for him , in the same way his father before him , only working alongside his cousin , Arthur S.
Everyone loved Arthur T.
He was always looking out for the company and its employees as if they were family.
But when Arthur S. decided that Arthur T. was not following company policy and doing things without agreement and permission , things got really ugly.
