The story : From a young age , all Janis ever wanted to do was fit-in and feel that she belonged.
She realized she could sing at the age of 17 , thats when she finally found something that truly made her happy.
After relocating to San Francisco and meeting many people , Janis soon met the band Big Brother and the Holding Company.
Here a perfect match was made and they began making music together.
Now that fame has finally seemed to find Janis , many began talking her into leaving Big Brother and fronting her own band.
Not knowing if it was the right thing to do , Janis moved on from Big Brother and seemed to gain some great success.
When it finally came the time to put out an album Janis worked with Paul Rothchild for the first time.
She was very hopeful that things were finally going to be better in her life , after always carrying so much sorrow and pain around and never actually feeling good enough.
She had finally given up on the drugs and it seemed like for good this time.
But that one last high finally did her in.
