The story : Mary Jane Harper is a little girl who lives with her mother who is recently separated from her husband.
Mary Jane's mother is getting her ready for a visit with her father.
Mother changes little Mary Jane's clothes and asks of her only that she stay in her bedroom until her mother comes to get her.
But Mary Jane is a little girl with a lot of energy.
She doesn't want to stay in her room. She would rather go outside to play.
When Mary Jane does go outside she gets all dirty after falling.
This angers her father who has arrived to pick her up and decides to blame Mary Jane's mother and takes off in a huff.
Now this angers Mary Janes' mother. So much so that she brutalizes her little girl , causing a broken arm.
One doctor makes little Mary Janes' well-being her mission after the mother tells her Mary Jane got her arm broken by falling.
