An American Crime (2007)
Based on a true story, taken from the transcripts of the court case in 1966.
Being released in a few film festivals before being shown on television, May 10th of 2008.
Filmed entirely in California.
The story: Sylvia and Jenny are two young sisters who believe they live a good life with their carny mother and father.
Although their parents seem to think that traveling around with their daughters from fair to fair is not the best thing.
One day at church the sisters befriend a few girls their age and are invited back to their home to play.
When the girls' father finds out where they are, he visits the friends' mother - a single mother of six trying hard to make ends meet while she battles sickness with a few medications.
The mother agrees to take in the two young sisters and care for them while their parents travel, as long as the parents pay her a weekly salary.
But soon, things get really weird and extreme in this household, focusing on defenseless Sylvia.
