Dark Side of the Ring : The Brawl For All (2020)
Made for Viceland, airing on TV April 7th in the US.
Season 2. Episode 4.
The story: In the early 90s, WCW and WWF were constantly battling against each other for TV ratings.
Vince McMahon of WWF really meant business and called on Vince Russo for ideas.
Russo brought the vision of professional wrestlers, not wrestling but actually fighting in the ring as a way to keep their devoted viewers as well as gaining new ones to their Monday Night Raw show.
It was stuff the audiences had never seen before and were actually confused by but they watched.
The concept was called 'Brawl For All'.
The point was to prove the toughest guy out of 16 wrestlers.
The men appointed parts in the show were ones with nothing to lose in their current wrestling careers but with the winning chance of boosting it.
Also, a big draw to the idea was that the winner would be awarded 75 thousand dollars and main event status...
But not everyone involved was convinced the show would work because some were better at fighting for real than others.
In the end, there was chaos.
Many fighters had to deal with fighting against good friends, wrestling mates and legitimately getting hurt.
Stars (voice) Chris Jericho, Vince Russo, Jim Cornette, Bart Gunn, Charles Wright, Charles Wright, Darren Drozdov, Butterbean, D'Lo Brown

Dark Side of the Ring : The Life and Crimes of New Jack (2020)
Made for Viceland, airing on TV March 31st in the US.
Season 2. Episode 3.
The story: A wrestler known for pushing the boundaries as far as he could, Jerome Young AKA New Jack was a provocative, controversial, hardcore wrestler whose tendencies leaned heavily towards real-world tensions of the 90s and the criminal...
Jerome had a traumatic childhood, which he holds most responsible for his quick to jump the crazy train antics.
Early on New Jack was trained by professional wrestler Ray Candy, who urged him to create a character, unlike any other.
What New Jack created was a badass that was to be taken anything but lightly.
He got his start through the professional Smoky Mountain Wrestling promotion in 1994.
New Jack quickly became the most brutal wrestler they had.
When the promotion wanted to market New Jack for the Atlanta wrestling show, they tag-teamed him along with equally crazy professional wrestler Mustafa Saed.
The two became the Gangstas...who were ruthless.
By 1995, New Jack got a much better offer to work for the ECW.
Known for their ultra-violent, anything-goes style he initially knew nothing about, New Jack fit right in.
He quickly became known as the wrestler who, if you pissed him off, would hurt you, even if it involved a weapon.
By 1996, none of his fly off the handle approach had weaned.
During a match that changed at the last minute, New Jack performed such a brutal act that landed him in real-life criminal court.
Stars New Jack, Jim Cornette, Sandman, D'Lo Brown, Tiny the Terrible, Stuart Kaplan, John Donovan, MWW , (voice) Chris Jericho

Dark Side of the Ring : Benoit part 2 (2020)
Made for Viceland, airing on TV March 24th in the US.
Season 2. Episode 2.
The story: When Chris did not show up for his scheduled appearance it was considered totally and completely out of character.
He was a workhorse and never missed a gig.
A wellness call was made to the local police station in the town where Chris resided.
The police got help into Chris's home by a neighbor who mentioned she had not seen anyone come or go from the home in three days.
After gaining access into the home the police reported Chris's death.
No one could believe the news. No one knew what happened, all anyone knew was that Chris was dead.
Quickly the WWE wanted to pay their respects to the hardworking performer/athlete and aired a three-hour tribute show in Chris' honor.
Everyone praised Chris on the show, but no one actually knew the real story.
At least not yet anyway.
Shortly after the show aired the real story came out.
Not only was Chris deceased, but so was his wife Nancy and their 7-year-old son Daniel, and apparently they were all killed by Chris's hand.
No one wanted to believe it and no one could understand why.
But everyone who knew and loved them were devasted.
Vince McMahon, head of WWE jumped into action again , quickly making public mention that everyone at WWE had made a big mistake honoring a man responsible for such a horrific injustice.
After that, there were strict orders for everyone employed by WWE to make no mention of Chris ever again.
Extremely strict drug testing within WWE was also made the new way of the wrestling world.
After autopsies were done, the causes of death were made public.
Chris had taken his own life in the end, and it was pretty apparent that the whole situation could quite possibly be a result of roid rage.
Steroid use, yes.
But after a former wrestler turned concussion specialist and executive director of the Concussion Legacy Foundation, who had retired from wrestling due to acquiring CTE (Chronic traumatic encephalopathy) from way too many concussions got the okay to do his testing on Chris' brain, the matter-of-fact proof of what caused his personality change and his deep descent into murder really explained a lot.

Dark Side of the Ring : Benoit part 1 (2020)
Made for Viceland, airing on TV March 24th in the US.
Season 2. Episode 1.
The story: Considered by many in the wrestling industry as one of the hardest workers in the business, Chris Benoit pushed himself to be the best he could be.
When he was young, his dad took him to see his first wrestling match.
There young Chris witnessed in awe the wrestling skills of The Dynamite Kid and Chris was in.
The only job Chris ever had was wrestling and he made sure to give it his all.
He began his career as the Pegasis Kid, performing his signature flying headbutt and busting his ass every night.
On stage, Chris was a badass but in reality, Chris was a sensitive, gentle, quiet, reserved family man.
Working in Japan, Chris found himself wrestling professional Eddie Guerrero.
The two didn't get along at first but soon found a best friend in each other, becoming inseparable.
At the same time, Nancy Daus' soon-to-be ex-husband was opening her eyes to the wrestling world.
Nancy soon became the valet as well as wife to wrestling booker Kevin Sullivan and together the two reinvented themselves.
Kevin was a fan and friend of Chris and often booked him.
Kevin also decided to stage a hoax of Chris stealing Nancy away from him, although no one knew that in reality, the two were actually falling in love.
After many personal problems, Chris and Nancy had a child together and then tied the knot.
Things couldn't be better for the couple.
But being on the road for work so much took a toll on Chris.
Then, just when it looked like Eddie would be back in the wrestling saddle once again after dealing with pain, drug and alcohol problems, he passed away without warning.
This took such a toll on Chris that within a couple years he was someone no one who knew and loved him really knew anymore.
In 2007, Chris was to be meeting with fellow wrestler/friends for a show in Texas, he bailed at the last minute.
That was the last time anyone ever spoke with him...
