Screamtime (1983)

Released in February, sometime in 1986 in the US.
Filmed in England and New York.
The story: Two bozoz go into a small store and get away with stealing a handful of VHS tapes.
The two take them over to a girlfriends house, not caring at all about her plans because they are going to watch the movies they stole.
The boys, along with us the viewers, proceed to watch three short movies.
One of a puppeteer whos obsessed with his puppets, the second of a lady who keeps seeing murders and the third about some fantastic killing fairies and lawn gnomes.

She decides, even though her son and daughter-in-law are fairly close by and visit often, that she would like more company.
Also, she could use some extra cash.
So she puts up a sign in her window, offering a room for rent.
No one ever could have foreseen how her life would change from that point on.
