The story: New York City, 1965.
Terry Gionoffrio is a young woman who makes a living as a dancer.
While performing on stage during a very important show, Terry injures her ankle.
Fast-forward a few years, and Terry is struggling to keep her head above water in the dancing business.
Her injury is causing her pain but she pushes on, trying to get any gig.
When she applies for a job and is just about completely humiliated while trying out , she takes it upon herself to go to see the man in charge of the show.
Instead, she just about passes out on the side of the road after experiencing some hallucinations due to some medication she's been taking too much of.
Terry is rescued by very nice, elderly couple Minnie and Roman Castevet , who happen to live in the building and know the man Terry was intending on visiting.
The Castevets take Terry in and immediately shower her with kindness.
So much kindness that they give her an apartment in the building to live in.
Then , knowing Terry just wants a part in the man in the same buildings' production , the Castevet's arrange for Terry to get a part.
They give Terry everything and it seems it's just all too good to be true.
Unfortunately, it is all too good to be true. There is a price to be paid.
