The Dark Place (2018)



Released April 12th in the US.
Filmed entirely in Georgia.
The story : Donald is a quiet guy who keeps to himself.
He works as a trash truck driver , he lives with and cares for his mother and he has an 11 year old daughter who he sees once a week.
While hanging out with his daughter , she shows him her Facebook feed.
On there , Donald notices a post from a boy whose family is on his work route.
The boy's post is asking if anyone has seen his little brother.
Donald begins questioning his daughter about the post , wanting to know if the boys brother has been found.
His daughter gets freaked out and doesnt want to ask the boy any questions , so advises her dad to stay away from the subject all together.
But Donald cannot and the more he thinks about it and asks people who may know what happened to him , the more he feels he needs to know.

The story: Moose is a nice enough guy but he isn't really right in the head.
He gets really excited about things that he enjoys, which is nice and all, but Moose does take things to another level...
Moose loves movies, he has all of his life, and some, along with the actors, really inspire him something fierce.
His best friend is Leah. Leah is paparazzi, so she always knows where the stars are.
Leah tells Moose that Hunter Dunbar, who happens to be Moose's most favorite actor, will be attending a party.
They decide to sneak in so Leah can get photos and Moose can meet Hunter, but Moose gets kicked out.
That's okay though because the next day, Hunter will be signing his new book at Moose's favorite comic book shop.
Moose makes his way there and just as it's Moose's turn to meet Hunter, Hunter steps away.
Moose cannot control his excitement and decides to try and talk to Hunter while he is handling some personal business, but that doesn't go well and he really doesn't get to properly meet him.
Leah tells Moose about an app that locates stars' homes. She makes Moose promise to not bother any stars, that goes for Hunter as well.
But when Moose finds Hunter's house and Hunter sees him, that doesn't work out well either.
That does not stop Moose though, he really just wants to be friends with Hunter because he just loves him.

The story: Wade Whitehouse is a policeman in a small town in New Hampshire.
He has some deep-rooted issues, due to the way his father behaved when Wade was a child.
Wade does best these days staying away from his father but his newest problem is not being able to see his young daughter as often as he'd like.
When Jack, Wade's coworker and friend, takes Evan Twombly, a very important man around town, out hunting, and things go horribly wrong, it seems like Jack is at fault.
The more Wade thinks about it, the more he believes Jack is a murderer and he doesn't want him to get away with the crime.
But no one wants to believe Jack is guilty.
As time goes on, Mr. Twombly's death eats away at Wade, changing his personality right before the eyes of everyone who knows and loves him.
In the end, everything Wade knows changes, transforming his life completely.

Tucker and Dale vs Evil (2010)

Filmed entirely in Canada.
The story: Tucker has recently bought a vacation cabin in the woods of West Virginia.
He and his best friend Dale are traveling there for some vacation time while fixing the place up.
At the same time, a group of college student friends are also on their way into the woods of West Virginia for a Memorial Day weekend stay.
On the way, they all end up at the same gas station.
Dale sees Alison, one of the college students, and wishes he could talk to her.
Tucker talks him into giving it a try, but instead, the two of them come off looking like crazed maniacs....
The college students make it to their campsite while Tucker and Dale make it to the cabin.
That evening, the college students decide to go for a midnight swim in the river.
Tucker and Dale are fishing on that same river.
When Tucker and Dale see Alison getting undressed and ready to jump in the river, Dale yells at Tucker for watching, causing Alison to get spooked and fall into the water.
Worried when they don't see her surface, Tucker and Dale save Alison from drowning and end up taking her back to the cabin.
The college students who think they have seen what happened to Alison freak out, telling the others that she was kidnapped.
All this misunderstanding turns into much more while the college kids attempt to rescue Alison from Tucker and Dale.

Creepshow : George Romaro in 3D / BabyTeeth (2023)



Made for Shudder, airing October 13th in the US.
Season 4. Episode 6.
Story 1: Sarah owns and runs a bookstore with the help of her son Martin and his friend Dawn.
It happens to be the old bookstore of George Romaro.
They do not sell online so it's possible that could be a reason for their recent decline in sales.
When the owner of the property comes by, claiming to want to raise the rent, it puts Sarah in a compromising position.
She will have no make some changes, also fire Dawn.
Martin doesn't want to fire Dawn, but if she is getting fired, he will break the news to her.
While getting ready to tell Dawn and hoping for a miracle, Martin sees a crate that Dawn found in the basement.
They open the crate to find unreleased, first edition copies of George Romaro's comics, Brain Rot.
The comics also include 3D glasses.
Martin believes they have hit the jackpot with the comics, which are surely worth a lot of money.
Although the comics are a rare, amazing find, they are also extremely dangerous.
Story 2: Teenager Shelby's mom Miranda is completely overbearing. She feels the need to be by Shelby's side as much as humanly possibly.
Miranda wants to hold on to Shelby forever, and she has kept all her things from when she was born til now. Including all of her baby teeth.
Because Miranda's mother left her when she was young, she will never do to Shelby what she did to her.
Shelby is rebellious but honest and tells her mother all the things she does because she knows it shocks her.
After Shelby tells Miranda she got a piercing, Miranda tells her she is never allowed to leave the house again.
Shelby explains that won't work and that it didn't work with her dad, trying to force Miranda to see the truth for what it really is.
When Shelby's friend Kaitlyn comes by to see her and Shelby tells her that her mom keeps all her teeth, Kaitlyn wants to find the teeth.
She finds something else instead.

Creepshow : Something Burrowed, Something Blue / Doodles (2023)



Made for Shudder, airing October 13th in the US.
Season 4. Episode 5.
Story 1: Frank is a very wealthy man. His days on earth will soon come to an end and he would like to give everything he owns to his daughter.
After receiving a letter from her father, inviting herself and her fiancee Ryan to brunch at his house, Allison could not be more disgusted.
Her father hasn't been in her life for the past 15 years and that's because after her mother's passing, he sent her away to boarding school.
Now she wants nothing to do with him or his money.
But Ryan talks her into going.
Just as expected, Allison has a bug up her ass as soon as they get there. But Ryan is most impressed with Frank's home and riches.
Frank wants to make amends, but no matter what he says, Allison isn't budging and instead of going any further with listening to him, she goes to the car.
Frank shows Ryan the secret to his fortune and tells him that if he can take care of this "secret", as Frank has all these years, all the money he can handle will be his and Allison's. 
Of course, tending to the "secret" of his success will be quite the task.
Story 2: Angela is working on getting a gig as a cartoon artist.
She has recently been let down while applying for a job at the very famous magazine, Timeless.
Unfortunately, while showing her work to Sonia, an up-and-coming competiting client, who is a favorite of Roger's, the magazine's owner, Sonia stole Angela's cartoon which got her the job.
Feeling sorry for herself and no future direction to think of to go in, Angela opens the latest issue of Timeless to find Sonia's bio article.
On that page, Angela doodles a rat next to Sonia, among other gruesome things.
The next morning, Angela gets a text that Roger is still looking for cartoon submissions.
Confused because she understood that Sonia got the job, Angela is told Sonia died last night.
Angela cannot believe it.
She jumps right in headfirst for another try at getting the gig with Timeless.
On this next try, Roger is impressed with Angela's work and hires her, but the job comes with a catch.
When Angela cannot do the requested dirty work to land the job, she is let go once again.
Just as before, Angela is angry, this time at Roger and doodles on the cover of Timeless, namely a cartoon of Roger.
Roger dies without warning and a few days later, when Angela decides to leave town, she learns she got the job with Timeless.
Apparently, anyone who makes Angela angry is in danger.

Creepshow : Meet the Balaskos / Cheat Code (2023)

Season 4. Episode 4.
Story 1: Chuck and Helena Balasko are American vampires.
They have recently, along with their teenage daughter Anastasia, relocated to a small town for a change of pace.
On their first night at their new home, they are approached by their neighbor Doug, who is anti-vampire.
Although the Balasko's are personable and friendly enough, Doug does not like them.
Doug also has a teenage son, Alex, who is soon interested in getting to know Anastasia.
The two meet and Alex offers to show Anastasia around town.
She accepts and immediately the two become close.
But Doug has a huge problem with this.
Doug never did tell Alex that his mother was killed by a vampire.
Story 2: Dave is a teenager who lives to play video games.
Since his mom has past, it's just been himself and his dad.
His dad is worried about him and would like to spend more time with him. But Dave isn't exactly interested.
When Dave's dad finds an old game that he played when he was Dave's age, he tells Dave all about it.
As the rumor goes, no one has ever won the game. Dave's dad was actually the player with the all-time highest score when the game came out.
Dad explains that the game is difficult and confusing because you never know what will happen next, after playing a bit Dave agrees.
Dave shows the game to his two best friends, and they agree, the game is really hard.
When one of them finds a copy on Ebay with a cheat code written on it, sold by a seller who said that the game is shit because it killed her kid, that should have been a hint to stay away.
